James Don Hays went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 11, 2011. He was at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK with many of his friends and family members by his side. James was 71 years of age. James Hays services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at his home church, Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Teresita. His Pall Bearers: Daniel Davis, Danny Bailey, Derek Stinnett, Phillip Hix, Doyle Bell, and George Murphy. Honorary Pall Bearers: Granvil Bates, Carl Clark, Dewitt Bell, Wayne Bell, Bill Casas, Robert Thompson, Glen Braddy, Don Shepard, & all his church brothers. James was born on March 24, 1940 to L.H. “Sime” Hays and Anna Nance Hays in Appleton, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Peachy Coffman of Hector, AR, and his late wife, Faye Forrest. James was survived by his wife Shirley of the home. Two daughters, Debra Cutsinger of Minneapolis, MN and Denise Johnson & husband Richard of Desota, TX. Two sons, Duane Snider & wife Marsha of Checotah, OK and Jerome Snider & wife Sherry of Konawa, OK. 9 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. One sister, Maxine & husband J.D. Virden of Atkins, AR. Two Nephews, Kim Virden of Dover, AR and Kelton Virden of Morrelton AR. One Niece Sharon Coffman of Hector, AR. And a host of family and friends. James was General Manager with Rounds and Porter Co. Millwork in the Tulsa and OKC district for 20 years. He spent 6 years with Lonestar Plywood & Door. He taught school for 2 years in AR. He was president of Oaks School Board for 2 years and a member for 4 years. Associate Director of OK Lumberman's Association for 4 years. James was a member of the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church of Teresita, OK. He loved his church family and especially his Pastor and dear friend Rev. Jimmy Bell. James met and later married Shirley Tomlinson, September 27, 2003. They had 8 beautiful, love filled years together. They loved traveling and attending Gospel singings and concerts. James had a servants heart and blessed many people. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew him.
