Bobby Lee Rupe
October 8, 1954 - October 22, 2024

Bobby Lee Rupe, 70, of Corpus Christi, Texas died peacefully on October 22, 2024, after a short battle with cancer surrounded by his longtime friends Claire and Terry Lemons.

Bob was born on October 8, 1954 in Tulsa Oklahoma to Roy Lee Rupe and Carlena Faye Hickey Rupe. He was the oldest of five children. Bob loved and spoke fondly of his grandparents Melvin Lewis Hickey and Mary Martha Wergin Hickey who helped raised him.

Bob married, divorced, and then moved to Corpus Christi in the nineties from Oklahoma. He fell on hard times and struggled quite a bit. However, on May 1 2006, Bob found sobriety. With the help of friends, he was able to get his life back on track. He reinstated his C.D.L. license and got a job as a truck driver. Bob died with 18 years of sobriety.

He had a knack for baking. He made the best cheesecakes and chocolate or lemon cream pies. He could also make some mean ribs.

Bob could be a little grumpy and definitely a little stubborn and had his own opinion, but he also had a big heart. He was always willing to help somebody if he could. He absolutely loved his cat Bandit!

Bob is survived by his brothers Billy Pursley, Melvin Pursley and his sister Sondra Pursley Ethridge, a son Scott Lee Rupe, his beloved cat Bandit and his friends Claire and Terry Lemons.

He was preceded in death by his mother Carlena Faye Hickey Pursley, his grandparents Melvin Lewis and Mary Martha Hickey, and his sister Tonya Pursley Willard.

Cremation services were handled by Guardian Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Corpus Christi, Texas. Burial of cremated remains in Rose Cemetery, Rose, Oklahoma, will be scheduled soon under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
