Janet Rogers
March 26, 1940 - August 28, 2022
Janet Rogers was born March 26, 1940, in Locust Grove, OK, to Floyd Walter & Dovie Ruth (Giles) McFarland. She departed this life on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family having attained the age of 82 years, 5 months, & 2 days.
Janet grew up & attended school in Locust Grove, graduating high school with the class of 1958. She & Corky Rogers were united in marriage on May 29, 1958, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. To this union was born 3 children: Rick, Vickie, & Debbie. Janet has made Locust Grove her home all of her life. She & Corky were married for over 64 years.
Over the years, Janet sold Avon & raised miniature Doberman Pinschers. She also spent many years babysitting for different people, including her own grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker for her family. As well, she was a longtime member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Salina, Oklahoma.
Janet enjoyed riding around with Corky where they would go & visit everyone. She spent many hours working in her flower beds & watching hummingbirds. Above all, she treasured time spent with family & friends. Janet saw the good in everyone. She was always respectful to everyone & loved with all of her heart. She will be missed dearly.
Janet is survived by: her husband: Corky Rogers of the home; 1 son: Ricky Rogers & wife Shelly of Locust Grove, OK; 2 daughters: Vickie Durnal & husband Mike of Rose, OK, & Debbie Duniphin & husband Shane of Spavinaw, OK; 6 grandchildren: Amy McBay, Jeremy Ebers & wife Brandi, Jerry Durnal & wife Audra, & Brandon Ebers & wife Brittany, Jeff Durnal, Leslie Faglie & husband Walter, Jr.; Bonus grandchildren: Rachelle Diliberto & husband Sal, and Stephanie Cooper; 23 great grandchildren; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
Janet was preceded in death by: her parents: Floyd & Dovie McFarland; 1 brother: Jay McFarland; 2 sisters: Anna Perkins & husband Bill, & Wilma Horner & husband Wallace.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Salina, OK. Reverend Gary Blackford & Reverend Doug Parker will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rose Cemetery in Rose, OK. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
