Corky Rogers
March 25, 1939 - August 29, 2025
Charles Warren "Corky" Rogers was born March 25, 1939, in Locust Grove, OK, to Frank Warren & Opal Inez (Wood) Rogers. Surrounded by his loving family, he departed this life on Friday, August 29, 2025, having attained the age of 86 years, 5 months, & 4 days.
Corky grew up in the Locust Grove area where he attended Iron Post school for 4 years, Cave Springs for 4 years, then graduated Locust Grove High School with the class of 1958. This is where he met the love of his life, Janet McFarland. He & Janet were united in marriage on May 29, 1958, in Locust Grove, OK. To this union was born 3 children: Rick, Vickie, & Debbie. Corky has made Locust Grove his home all of his life. Janet preceded Corky in death on August 28, 2022. The couple had been married for over 64 years.
Over the years, Corky worked at Industrial Fabricating Co. for 25 years then Energy Exchanger for over 20 years. He was also known for raising Chester White pigs & Limousine Cattle. He was a longtime member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Salina, OK.
Corky always enjoyed riding around with Janet where they would go & visit everyone. He spent many hours riding horses & taking care of the farm. He was also known for carrying a big stick to keep all the kids in line that gathered at the house when their kids were young. Corky's fondest memories were going on trail rides with Janet & the kids riding to Saline Courthouse, Spring Creek, Blue Hole & other locale areas. He spent may years with the Locust Grove Round Up Club, even held the position as President for some time. Above all, Corky treasured time spent with family & friends.
Corky is survived by his 3 children: 1 son: Ricky Rogers and wife Shelly of Locust Grove, OK; 2 daughters: Vickie Durnal & husband Mike of Rose, OK, & Debbie Duniphin & husband Shane of Spavinaw, OK; 8 grandchildren: Amy Cline & husband Michael, Jeremy Ebers & wife Brandi, Jerry Durnal & wife Audra, & Brandon Ebers & wife Brittany, Jeff Durnal, Leslie Faglie, Rachelle Diliberto & husband Sal, & Stephanie Cooper; 18 great grandchildren; 1 sister: Shirley Koelsch & husband Bill of Locust Grove, OK; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & a host of friends.
Corky was preceded in death by: his parents: Frank & Opal Rogers; his loving wife, Janet; & 1 infant brother: Johnny Ray Rogers.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Salina, OK. Reverend Gary Blackford & Brother Randy Monk will officiate. Interment will follow at the Rose Cemetery in Rose, OK. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
