Letha R. Berg
March 30, 1931 - November 30, 2023

Services to remember and celebrate the life of Letha Rea Berg will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Oak Grove Mennonite Church in Adair. Burial will follow at the Old Adair Cemetery. Letha passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was 92.

One of eleven children gifted to Walter C. and Vesta V. (McMillan) Holt. Letha was born at home on March 30, 1931 in rural Mayes County. She was raised and educated in the Adair area and graduated from Adair Public Schools. Following graduation, Letha continued her education attending Draughon's Business School in Tulsa. On September 2, 1950 in Stillwater, OK, Letha married the love of her life Charles Berg. It was Letha's best friend Lula Mae Berg that was determined Letha was going to marry her brother. And after a three-week courtship you might say the rest is history. Their marriage lasted for over 73 years and was gifted with four children. Letha helped provide for her family working as a masseuse for a physical therapy firm for a few years. She then became a full-time wife and mother and spent her days caring for her family.

A true Proverbs 31 woman. Letha was a faithful member of whatever church her and Charles attended. She lived her life according to the instruction she found in God's Word. Her and Charles were instrumental in starting Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Pryor. Letha enjoyed quilting and was known for her blue jean quilts. She was an excellent cook and if you came to her home, her requirement was that you ate. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and according to her family she was always canning something. Letha and Charles even invented a way to irrigate their fields. When it came to discipline, Letha lived by the old adage (spare the rod, spoil the child). According to her youngest son, she sure knew which switch to cut to make a lasting impression. A lady that has left a legacy that will live on in the lives of her family and friends.

Letha is survived by her husband, Charles, children, Carolyn Thompson, John Berg and wife Gina, Charles Berg, and wife Caroll and Ernie Berg, grandchildren, Dwin Thompson and wife Kristy, Michelle Burch and husband Darrel, Duane Thompson, Josh Berg, and wife Lindsay, Kaci Stand and husband Trenton, Alisha Dyson and husband Tony, Jeremy Berg and wife Kara, Chris Berg and wife Dakota, Tamra Keithly and husband Zach, Fletcher Berg, Troy Thompson, and Lexy Thompson. Twenty-four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, brothers, Gene Holt and wife Margaret and Delmar Holt and wife Linda, sisters, Leotha McKinney, Lena Martin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Letha was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Melbourn Holt and Elevin Holt, sisters, Lela Johnson, Lenora Couch, Leona Peper and Roxie Jameson.
