Sammi Leach
March 11, 1977 - February 3, 2026

Sammi Gale Leach was born on March 11, 1977, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 48 years, 10 months, and 23 days. Sammi was a lifetime resident of Locust Grove and attended Locust Grove Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 1995. She was the daughter of Sampson Leach and Mina Sue "La" (Sullateskee) Leach, both of whom preceded her in death.

Sammi had a strong work ethic and a heart for caring for others. Over the years, she worked at King Louie outside of Adair and later at Simmons in Decatur, Arkansas. She was also a Certified Nursing Assistant, serving residents at Parkhill South Nursing Home in Locust Grove, Parkhill North in Salina, Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Chouteau, as well as Colonial Terrace Nursing Center and Shady Rest Care Center, both in Pryor.

A woman of deep faith, Sammi was a member of Cedar Grove Church south of Locust Grove, where her father pastored for many years. Music was a large part of her life. Along with her parents and siblings, she sang gospel music for many years at churches, revivals, hog frys, and gospel singing gatherings. She also sang with several other gospel groups throughout the years, sharing her love of music wherever she went.

Sammi knew how to enjoy life. She loved playing BINGO, gathering crawdads, and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was a talented softball player, enjoyed volleyball, and was known as a pro rummy player. Sammi was a devoted OU Sooners fan and loved traveling, especially trips to North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida, and Kansas. She was also a wonderful cook, proudly following in the footsteps of her mother. Those who knew Sammi will remember her as funny, blunt, witty, and always to the point. She rarely took life too seriously, met situations with humor, and had a sneaky way of keeping everyone on their toes. Above all, Sammi was a very loving person, and her presence will be deeply missed.

Sammi is survived by: 1 brother: Grape Leach of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 3 sisters: Judy Littledave and husband Skunk of Salina, Oklahoma, Mary Smith and Chase of Chouteau, Oklahoma, and Stephanie Sitsler and Jake Black of Pryor, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews: Nysa Otterlifter, Denise Sumner, Jacob Littledave, Justin Daniels, Anthony Fencer, Gabrielle Sanders, Tamica Leach, Dillon Panther, Braden Panther, Little Sam Leach, Shelbi Leach, Kelsy Sitsler, Brooklyn Panther, and Josh Sitsler; numerous great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Sammi was preceded in death by: her parents; paternal grandmother: Bessie Leach; 1 son: David Jack Lyman; 1 sister: Tamara Leach; 1 brother: Josh Leach.

Wake services will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 9, 2026, at Cedar Grove Church south of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, with her cousin Kyle Leach and Pastor Dylan Hayes officiating.
