Sam Bendabout
June 22, 1946 - August 23, 2024

Samuel "Sam" Bendabout, a lifelong resident of Locust Grove, passed from this life on Friday, August 23, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 22, 1946, to Edward & Maggie (Chunestudy) Bendabout, he had obtained the age of 78 years, 2 months, & 1 day.

Sam attended the Locust Grove High School, & later dedicated part of his life to serving his country in the United States Army, where he earned the distinction of Marksman. On March 16, 2001, Sam married Sandra Lee Robison in Fayetteville, AR. Together, they were devoted members of Cornerstone Outreach Church in Locust Grove, where Sam served with unwavering faith. He took on various roles within the church, including leading Sunday School classes, welcoming attendees at the door, & offering prayers for those in need.

Sam was known for his strong work ethic & diverse skill set. His career spanned various roles, including brick mason, forklift & grinder operator, & mold setter. He worked at the Grede Foundry in Pryor in his early years, & Hastings Hospital in his later years.

Beyond his professional life, Sam had a passion for travel & took pride in being the go-to driver for Sandra & others in need of transportation. He enjoyed maintaining his yard, fishing, & playing solitaire on his phone. An enthusiastic supporter of the OU Sooners & Washington Redskins, Sam cherished watching sports & attending his grandchildren's sporting events over the years.

Sam will be remembered for his kindness, consideration, & loving nature. He was simply wonderful in every way. His presence brought joy to all who knew him, & he will be deeply missed by family & friends.

Sam is survived by: his wife Sandra of the home; 5 children: Robin Wallace & husband Keith of Tahlequah, OK, Crystal Bendabout-Bogle of Locust Grove, OK, Samuel Bendabout, Jr. & wife Kayla of Locust Grove, OK, Brent Bendabout & wife Cynthia of Peggs, OK; & Leandra Mike & Jesse Henry of Locust Grove, OK; 16 grandchildren: Taylor Wallace & Bailey Burford, Ashley Crossley & husband Bert, Justin Wallace & Misty Stafford, Byron Wallace & wife Alannah, Tate Wallace, Chasidy Braden, Cory Bogle & wife Jasmine, Cara Lemons & wife Sam, Jayce Bendabout-Springer, Kaitlynn Arneecher & husband Ezekiel, Samuel "Brady" Bendabout, Caden Bendabout & Cidney Burns, Jalum Bendabout, Chloe Bendabout, Addison Bendabout, Mariah Mike & Joe Redeagle, & Lanae Mike; 24 great grandchildren.

Sam was preceded in death by: his parents: Edward & Maggie Bendabout; 4 brothers: John Bendabout, Charlie "Bucky" Bendabout, Felix Bendabout, & Calvin "Joe" Bendabout; 3 sisters: Sandra Kay Bendabout, 1 infant sister, & Rita Mellowbug; and 1 grandson: Chase Dane Bogle.

Wake services will be held 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Cornerstone Outreach Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Sister Edna Kiddy and Reverend Richard "Duke" Pickup will officiate. Interment will follow at the McClain Cemetery near Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Services were entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.
