January 25, 1938 - January 28, 2026

Billie Jean (Hyatt) Thompson was born January 25, 1938, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Lorenzo "Chuck" and Edith Marie (Coats) Hyatt. She departed this life, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at her home in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years and 3 days.

Growing up Jean attended school in Locust Grove, graduating class of 1955. She continued her education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She worked all her adult life before retiring in 2004.

During college she married Jon "Pewee" Cavalier, later divorced. While working at Gardner Denver Foundry in Pryor, Oklahoma, in 1975, she met and later married Robert "Bob" Thompson. The couple was married for 42 years.

Jean and Bob lived in California for over 30 years before retiring in Rogers, Arkansas, in 2004. They moved to Locust Grove, Oklahoma, in 2018.

Jean loved football, basketball, Nascar, and Dominoes! She was a major OU and OKC Thunder fan. She also loved attending her class reunions and country and western music. She said Ray Price was "IT", till Toby Keith came along. Jean was a member of the Methodist church and Eastern Star, both in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.

She was first and foremost the best wife and mother anyone could ask for. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jean is survived by: 1 son: Jon Charles Cavalier Jr. of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, and 1 daughter: Jacque Carol Cavalier of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, 2 stepdaughters: Harriett Pearl and husband Ken of Indiana, and Heidi Thompson of California, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Burial of cremated remains will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Hogan Cemetery, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
