Debra Jo Six
September 22, 1955 - September 6, 2024
Debra Jo Six, was born on September 22, 1955, in Tulsa, OK, to George Granville & Barbara Jo (Duncan) Jenkins. She passed away on September 6, 2024, in Claremore, OK, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 68.
Debra spent her early years in Tulsa & Little Kansas before moving to Rose Prairie at the age of 16. She attended & graduated from Locust Grove High School in 1976. A natural athlete, she trained for the USA Olympic team in gymnastics, specializing in the uneven parallel bars, a testament to her dedication & talent in her youth.
On March 28, 1975, Debra married the love of her life, Stanley Six, in Rose, OK. Together they shared over 33 years of love & companionship before Stanley's passing on November 14, 2008. Debra always cherished their time together & the life they built as a couple.
Debra was a member of the First Baptist Church in Locust Grove. She worked as a paraeducator at Locust Grove High School, where her kindness & care for the students left a lasting impression. Many in the community also remember her years working at Charlie's In-N-Out, where she befriended many young people, offering them a listening ear & compassionate advice. Debra was known for her no-nonsense approach to life. Her stubbornness was often a source of strength, & her children knew where she stood on every issue - though her love for her kids often shielded them from trouble with their Dad, especially her youngest son.
Debra was a woman of many passions. She loved riding motorcycles with Stanley & enjoyed stock car racing, even donating her family car for the track. A voracious reader, she could often be found with a book in hand. Shopping was another favorite pastime, & she had a particular fondness for purchasing socks & undergarments. Above all, she loved spending time with her family & adored her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Debra will be missed by all that knew & loved her.
Debra is survived by: 3 children: Shannon Stafford & husband Bo of Locust Grove, OK, Doug Six & wife Edna of Pryor, OK, & Brandon Six & wife Amber of Claremore, OK; 2 Adopted children: Elizabeth Miller of Siloam Springs, AR, & Sarah Fields of Chouteau, OK; 21 grandchildren: C.J.
