Fred B. Sitsler
April 4, 1928 - November 25, 2014

Freddie Bill Sitsler was born on April 4, 1928, in Rose, OK, to Dan & Bertha (Dollarhide) Sitsler. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at his home, at the age of 86 years, 7 months, & 21 days.

Growing up, Fred attended school in Rose, OK. On June 6, 1949, in Locust Grove, OK, Freddie Bill Sitsler & Thelma Mae Holman were united in marriage. Thelma preceded Fred in death on February 29, 1992. The couple had been married for over 42 years.

Having lived most of his life in Locust Grove, Fred had also lived for a short time in places like Porter, Wagoner, Idaho, as well as Oregon. He attended church at Exciting Southeast Baptist Church at Sportsman Acres near Pryor. Fred was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He had a deep passion for all things related to horses, from training to shoeing & to caring for them. Fred loved all his family & friends dearly. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Fred is survived by: 2 daughters: Connie Simpson of Columbus, NE & Janet Beene & husband Gary of Locust Grove, OK; 5 grandchildren: Michelle Schoenrock of Columbus, NE, Kim Boado & husband Henry of Broken Arrow, OK, Jennifer Henson & husband Danny of Locust Grove, OK, Robert Sitsler & wife Jennifer of West Richland, WA, & George Beene & wife Melissa of Locust Grove, OK; 16 great grandchildren; 4 brothers: Harvey Sitsler & wife Pearl of Locust Grove, OK, Virgil Sitsler & wife Teresa of Salina, OK, U.J. Sitsler & wife Lena of Locust Grove, OK, & Jerry Dean Sitsler of Locust Grove, OK; 2 sisters: Wilma Jean Sitsler & Wanda Montgomery, both of Locust Grove, OK; special niece: Terry Nollen of Locust Grove, OK; & special great niece: Tera Parker of Locust Grove, OK; Numerous other relatives & a host of friends.

Fred was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; 1 son: Robert Sitsler; 2 brothers: Larry Sitsler & David Sitsler; & one sister: Ruby Squirrel.

Funeral services were held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at the Exciting Southeast Baptist Church at Sportsman Acres near Pryor, Oklahoma. Reverend Rob Pierce, Reverend Jess Stipes, Reverend Jack Sitsler and Reverend Gregory Sitsler officiated. Interment followed at the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
