Junior Thomas "Pee-Wee" Grimes
May 19, 1945 - October 24, 2024

Junior Thomas "Pee-Wee" Grimes, born May 19, 1945, in Delano, California, to Margie (Redbird) and William Thomas "Buck" Grimes, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 79 years. He grew up attending schools at Iron Post and Locust Grove High School. Known for his hard-working nature, he spent many years as a laborer for Manhattan Construction in Tulsa before taking a position in maintenance at the Cherokee Casino in Catoosa, where he worked until his retirement.

On November 4, 1995, Pee-Wee married Sandy Jean (Williams) Ward. The two shared a loving marriage for over 23 years until Sandy's passing on October 31, 2019.

Pee-Wee found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved to hunt mushrooms, mow his yard, and cheer on his beloved OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. As a fan of NASCAR, he rooted for Jeff Gordon, and he never missed watching his favorite game show, Jeopardy. Pee-Wee also took pride in caring for his cats and cherished trips to the casino with his wife, Sandy.

Those who knew Pee-Wee remember him as a gentle, joyful soul with a constant smile. Family meant the world to him, and he never missed a chance to gather with loved ones for the holidays. He was deeply loved by his family and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Pee-Wee's warm heart and kind spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved him.

Pee-Wee is survived by: 2 children: Cyndi Barnett and husband Luke of Leach, Oklahoma and Marty Ward and wife Cathy of Pryor, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren: Josh West and wife Kadee of Pryor, Oklahoma, Robert Sean Ward and wife Becky of Pryor, Oklahoma, Kaity Teehee and husband Andrew of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Erica McCammon of Pryor, Oklahoma, Ashley Renee Ward and fiancé` Hunter Rosebrough of Pryor, Oklahoma, Shayla Alston and husband Joe of Leach, Oklahoma, and Dalton Wayne Ward and wife Hillary of Pryor, Oklahoma; 14 great grandchildren: Lindsay, Maddie, Haeleigh, Zane, Rylee, Parker, Liam, Krislynn, Kortnee, Parker Joe, Stella, Raynee, Marlee, Olivia, and 2 more on the way; 1 sister: Maxine Reid and husband Clifford of Owasso, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews: Andi Reid, Bobby Reid, Michael Reid, Donna Sanders, Melinda Lyons, and Eddie Horton; along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends;

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; 1 granddaughter: Allison Rebecca Hulvey; 1 brother: James Grimes; and 1 sister: Bernice Horton.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Hogan Cemetery near Locust Grove, Oklahoma, with Brother Shawn Bates officiating. Services are entrusted to Locust Grove Funeral Home.
