Fannie Evelyn Grimes was born on February 8, 1929, in Teresita, Oklahoma, to John and Alice (Marler) Harless. She departed this life on Friday, June 21, 2013, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 13 days.

Fannie grew up in the Teresita area where she also attended school there. On April 8, 1945, in Teresita, Fannie Evelyn Harless and Bowman Grimes were united in marriage. He preceded his wife in death on September 2, 1984.

Fannie spent most of her life living in the Locust Grove and Teresita area, although she and her family did live in California for a short period of time. Fannie was a Christian that had attended church at Full Gospel Tabernacle in Locust Grove. Fannie was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She had worked at Fabricut from 1985 to 1986. She also spent some time cooking at the Boys Scouts Camp for a couple of summers. Fannie enjoyed time spent working in the garden and tending to her flowers. She will be missed dearly by those that knew her.

Fannie is survived by: 1 son: Robert Grimes and wife Helen of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 grandson: Mark Grimes of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Nannie Hobbs and husband Jay of Crescent City, California; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; 1 brother: Brady Harless; and 1 sister: Anne Ridgeway.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, June 24, 2013, at Hogan Cemetery near Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Reverend Stanley Henson will officiate. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home. VISITATION: 5 PM until 9 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2013 1 PM until 9 PM, Sunday, June 23, 2013
