February 28, 1948 - March 3, 2026

"Kathy" Loretta Kathleen Cagle

Loretta Kathleen (Kathy) Cagle of Locust Grove, Oklahoma departed this life at the age of 78 years old on March 3, 2026, in Locust Grove. She was born to K.C.. Heslar Jr. and Jean (Pucket) Heslar on February 28, 1948, at Moots Hospital in Pryor, Oklahoma on February, 1948.

Kathy spent much of her youth growing up and working in "Heslar's Bakery," which was owned by her parents. During that time, she was known by practically everyone in Pryor, and she was affectionately known by many as "blondie," a nickname that stuck with her into her adult years. Kathy completed K-12th grade of her school years in Pryor where she attended Roosevelt elementary before moving to Pryor Junior High followed by Pryor High School. It was in high school where she met the love of her life, Keith Cagle.

Keith and Kathy married immediately after high school graduation. At that time, Bartlesville, Oklahoma was the furthest Kathy had ever been from Pryor, but after Keith joined the United States Air Force in 1966, they moved to Amarillo, Texas and then to Athens, Greece where Keith was ultimately stationed. Living overseas in Athens was a completely new experience for Kathy, but she quickly learned her way around and picked up some of the Greek Language. She had many enjoyable and memorable adventures with Keith as they hiked their way around Greece, and some of the most memorable were visiting several of the places and ancient cities spoken of in the Bible.

Kathy and Keith began growing their family in Athens in 1970 with the birth of their first son, Jason Cagle. They lived shortly in Spokane, Washington before being discharged from the Air Force. They then settled back in Pryor where their second son, Ryan, was born in 1972. Afterward, Kathy, Keith, and their sons lived in Flint, Michigan, Kaufman, Texas, and Bristol, Tennessee before settling in Locust Grove in 1981 where Keith has been the minister at the Eastside Church of Christ until this day. As a loving mother and minister's wife, Kathy taught Bible Class and was also known throughout the community for her many years of work as a substitute teacher at the elementary, middle, and high schools. Through that work, she became known and was loved by many, made a multitude of friends, and met a number of favorite students with whom she has remained friends throughout her life.

Kathy will be missed by many friends and loved ones, including her brothers and sisters in Christ who she loved dearly. Kathy was baptized into Christ on October 2, 1966. From that day forward, Kathy lived a life dedicated to God first and the family. She lived in Christ, and died in Christ. She has ben a faithful member of the Eastside Church of Christ in Locust Grove for the past 45 years. Above all else, Kathy loved the Lord and the church that He died for, and her love of the Lord was always the top priority in her life. This was obvious to everyone who knew Kathy. She was a beloved preacher's wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family and was wonderful friend and sister in Christ to many others.

Kathy Cagle is survived by her husband, Keith Cagle, her son Jason Cagle and wife Daesha, of Locust Grove, OK, her son Ryan Cagle and wife Faviola, of Raleigh, NC, her five grandchildren, Chelsi Stafford and husband Trey of Pryor, OK, Jayce Ballou and husband Jerran of Pryor, OK, Caleb Cagle of Locust Grove, OK, Mayden Cagle of Raleigh, NC, one great granddaughter, Autumn Stafford of Pryor, OK, one sister, Teresa Boyd of Pryor, OK, and a lifetime of Christian family members around the world.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Eastside Church of Christ in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Minister Ron Hass will officiate. Interment will follow at the Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.
