Robert Sanders
January 28, 1927 - February 10, 2017


Robert Eugene Sanders, 90, of Pryor, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born on January 28, 1927 in Muskogee, Oklahoma; the son of Clifford and Ollie Mae (Sharp) Sanders. Robert faithfully served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on April 19, 1948. Robert was a member of the Jay Masonic Lodge #544, Grove Eastern Star Lodge #209 , a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a Tulsa Scottish Rite 32 Degree Mason. He married Susan Cogle on March 29, 1990 in Vinita, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pryor and enjoyed spending time with those he loved. Robert looked forward to traveling, he and Susan, loved to go to new and exciting places, exploring the world around them. He leaves behind many wonderful memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor with Reverend Roger Parker officiating. Robert is survived by his wife, Susan Sanders of the home; daughter, Robin Sanders of Texas; step sons, B.G. Cogle of Pryor, Oklahoma and Chris Cogle of Thailand; step daughters, Connie Coile of Pryor, Oklahoma and Becky Sanders of Colorado; 7 grandchildren; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
