Myrtha Brewster Young
December 8, 1918 - December 1, 2005
Funeral service for Myrtha Brewster Young, 86 of Claremore, formerly of Pryor will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Key Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Gwartney officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Pryor. Arrangements are under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Pryor.
Myrtha was born December 8, 1918 in Rose, Oklahoma to Wilburn LeRoy and Delia D. (Drake) Lewis. She died December 1, 2005 in Claremore.
Myrtha grew up and attended school in the New Home area northwest of Pryor. She married Marvin Brewster in 1935 in Harrison, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in 1963. She later married Dallas Young in 1978 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Myrtha had been in the cafe business for many years. She owned and operated her own cafe, retiring in 1980. Myrtha was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Pryor.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Loyetta O'Connor of Pryor and Betty Johnson of Pryor, OK; 1 sister, Geneva Denison of Pryor, OK; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas in 1988; 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
