Curtis Wright Rizley Jr.
August 25, 1944 - July 30, 2026
Curtis Wright Rizley Jr. was born on August 25, 1944, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Curtis Wright Rizley Sr. and Loie (Gifford) Rizley. He attended Pryor schools and the furthered his education at Okmulgee Tech, where he received an Associates degree in Auto Mechanics.
Following his graduation from Okmulgee Tech, Curtis joined the United States Air Force. Curtis was assigned to the 410 Transportation Squadron SAC. He served with the USAF Transportation Squadron, Cam Ranh Bay, Republic of Vietnam, as a mechanic for military vehicles. When he returned to the states, he was assigned to K.I. Sawyer AFB, in Marquette, Michigan, where he was a wrecker operator. Curtis was awarded the Airman's Commendation Medal while at K.I. Sawyer AFB. Curtis was honorably discharges from the Air Force at the rank of Sergeant.
Curtis came from a long line of military service within his family. Curtis' brother, Don, served in Plea Ku, Vietnam, at the same time Curtis was in Cam Ranh Bay. His father served in World War II. His uncle Cub (Lowell), uncle Levert, and aunt Ava Christine, also served. His grandfather, William Monroe Rizley, served in World War I.
Curtis retired from Allied Signal, U.O.P. at the Port of Catoosa. He spent his time on vintage cars, playing his Martin guitar, and collecting old records. He was also a member of the Foyil Baptist Church.
Curtis is survived by his son, Curtis W. Rizley III; granddaughter, Brooke Rizley Inman and husband, Chad of Dewey, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Sally, Conway, Turner, and Lucy Belle; and brother, Don Rizley of Bixby, Oklahoma.
Curtis was preceded in death by his mother and father; grandparents: Riley and Vinnie Gifford, and William Monroe and Maude Rizley.
