Beverly Joyce Walsh
July 27, 1936 - February 15, 2025

Beverly Joyce (Trogdon) Walsh, 88-year-old Chouteau resident, went to be with her Lord early Saturday morning, February 15, 2025, at the Hillcrest South Hospital in Tulsa. She was born on July 27, 1936, in Pryor to Howard Vernon Trogdon and Mary Esther (Ledbetter) Trogdon. She was a graduate of Pryor High School in 1954, where she was active in 4-H, and later attended the IRS training school. Joyce married the love of her life James Delos "J.D." Walsh on August 20, 1955, in Chouteau, they had celebrated over 69-1/2 years of marriage. Joyce worked as a tax preparer for 34 years at H and R Block specializing in farm taxes, retiring in 2017, she also had worked as a bookkeeper at Chupp Implement. In 1957 with J.D.'s parents John and Opal Walsh, Joyce and J.D. bought some dairy cows and began their dairy, they bought his parents out in 1966, they retired from the dairy farm in 2001. Her and J.D. had been honored as Mayes County Farm Family of the Year in 2019. Beverly was a member of the Mazie First Baptist Church. Joyce raised two gardens and canned vegetables to feed her family and share with friends, she also did sewing, and cooking for them as well.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Howard and Mary Esther Trogdon, siblings, Virginia Trogdon, Dale Trogden, Phillip Trogden, mother and father-in-law, John and Opal Walsh.

The family includes her husband James Delos Walsh of the home, sons, Gary Walsh and wife Vicki of Chouteau, Randy Walsh and wife Marsha of Chouteau, Kevin Walsh and wife Penny of Locust Grove, daughter, Karen Hilton and husband Jim of Pryor, siblings, Carolyn Sheats of Pryor, John Trogdon and wife Lynda of Pryor, grandchildren, Jeromy Walsh, Jennifer Newton, J. W. Walsh, Haley Head, Virginia Lampson, Chris Hilton, Brandon Walsh, Lauren Crawford, James Potter, Jeremy Potter, twenty-one great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mazie, on Monday, February 17, 2025.

The celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mazie, Pastor Andy Herring officiating. Interment will follow at the Chouteau North Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.stephens-key.com or on the funeral home Facebook page.
