Rev. Donald Wayne Spencer
January 14, 1937 - February 8, 2025

Don was born on January 14, 1937, to parents, Robert Thomas Spencer and Maude Ethel Alexander Spencer in Brentwood, California. Three sisters, Opal, Margie and Wilma Jean joyously welcomed his arrival too. Don grew up on a farm, where he was spoiled and doted on by his parents and his three sisters.

Don grew up and attended school in Oklahoma. He met and later married Virginia (Ginger) Louise Shipman on Dec.22, 1956, in Pryor, Okla.

Don later joined the Army and served his country with pride.

Later in life Don felt the calling of the Lord to serve as a minister. During his ministry years, he and his family would travel to different churches to minister through God's word with worship and song.

Together, they raised four children, Janet Louise Spencer Butler, (Barry), Julie Lois Spencer Shearhart (Bobby), Stephen Wayne Spencer (Marsha) and Phillip Donn Spencer (Christine).

They were blessed with 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger, parents, Robert and Maude, two brothers, Elzie and Mervin, four sisters, Lucille, Opal, Margie and Wilma Jean and his son in law, Bobby Shearhart.

After Virginia's death, Don married Sandra Ladon Woodward. They later divorced but remained good friends until his death.

Before his death, Don entered Meadowbrook Nursing Center in Chouteau. It was there that our dad received wonderful care with genuine love from Patti and her team.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Stephens-Key Chapel in Pryor, with Pastor Rick Longcrier officiating. Interment will follow at the Bryan Chapel Cemetery at Boatman. Online condolences may be made at www.stephens-key.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in care of the Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care of Pryor.

In lieu of flowers please donate to any of our dad's favorite charities; St Jude Children's Hospital; 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN, 38105, Mercy Ships; P.O. Box 2020 Garden Valley, TX 75771 and/or the Faith and Freedom Fund; 4700 Surry Place, Alexandria, VA.
