Betty Aliene Sitsler
August 5, 1937 - April 18, 2021

Betty Aliene Sitsler was born on August 5, 1937, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to William Lee and Mary Bonita (Breazeale) Harmon. After her father remarried, she was raised by him and her step-mother, Bess. She passed from this life on Sunday evening, April 18, 2021, at her home in Salina, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 13 days.

Betty was a Salina resident all of her life. She graduated with the Salina High School Class of 1955. On January 8, 1955, Betty and Arnel Ray Sitsler were united in marriage. Ray preceded Betty in death on January 5, 1997. They had been married just 3 days shy of 42 years. Betty continued to live on their homeplace, living there for over 63 years.

Throughout the years, Betty had attended Victory Tabernacle and the First Baptist Church, both in Salina. She had been apart of the KI BOIS Community Action Foster Grandparent Program where she was a regular volunteer for the Salina Kindergarten Classes as a Grandma. Betty had donated 20 years of her life to help molding young minds in the Salina Public School District.

Betty enjoyed crocheting hats for the homeless, veterans, or for anyone else in need. She also liked to sew, quilt, and collect puzzles. She loved hanging with her grandkids and enjoyed time with her family. Betty will be remembered as a hardworking homemaker, devoted mother, and grandmother. She was a mom and grandma to so many of her "adopted kids". Betty had a special love for her dogs. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

Betty is survived by: 5 children: David Sitsler and wife Nicole of Hulbert, Oklahoma, Sandy Davis and husband Randall of Salina, Oklahoma, Robin Rame and husband Mike of Salina, Oklahoma, Mike Sitsler and wife Marty of Salina, Oklahoma, and Denise Bowline and husband Darrell of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; a special niece: Mary Jane Sitsler and husband Jack of Salina, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildern: Bucky Ray Sitsler and wife Stephanie of Arkansas City, Kansas, Brian Sitsler and wife Jenna of Westville, Oklahoma, Randy Davis of Salina, Oklahoma, Derick Davis and wife Elizabeth of Salina, Oklahoma, Ray Davis of Salina, Oklahoma, Lana Bringardner and husband Mike of Salina, Oklahoma, Shannon Sitsler of Salina, Oklahoma, Josh Sitsler and wife Stephanie of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Kernessa Panther of Claremore, Oklahoma, Cassandra Donahue of Salina, Oklahoma, LaDonna Hope of Salina, Oklahoma, Christina Pickenpaugh of Pryor, Oklahoma, Cameron Sitsler and wife Emily of Salina, Oklahoma, Rebecca Blevins and Madi Nichols of the home, Joseph Blevins of Salina, Oklahoma, Tanya Green and husband Robert of Foyil, Oklahoma, and Ashley McKnight of Henryetta, Oklahoma; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, other relatives, along with a host of friends.

Betty was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; her step-mother: Bess Harmon; 1 granddaughter: Chancy Sitsler; 2 sisters: Blanche Sisson and Alice Carpenter; and 1 brother: Howard Harmon.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the Salina High School Gymnasium in Salina, Oklahoma. Pastor Bucky Ray Sitsler and Sandy Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow at the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
