Glen Dale Montgomery
August 2, 1935 - April 21, 2025
Salina
Glen Dale Montgomery, 89, of Salina, passed away on April 21, 2025, at his home. A proud United States Army veteran, Glen served his country with honor and remained an active member of both the VFW and the American Legion throughout his life. He dedicated many years to his career as an electrician, known for his strong work ethic and reliability. In June of 1961, Glen married the love of his life, Colleen Montgomery. They shared 60 wonderful years together before her passing on September 2, 2021. Glen enjoyed spending time at the Salina Senior Center, where he found friendship and community in his later years. In his younger days, he loved the great outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and exploring the mountains of Colorado, where he lived for many years and built cherished memories. Glen will be remembered for his steady presence, his service to others, and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures.
Glen is survived by his brothers, Max Montgomery of Salina, Oklahoma and Joe Montgomery and wife Sharon of West Minster, Colorado; sisters, Velma Hite and husband Clifford of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Wilma Sellers and husband Robert of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Joyce Kerns and husband Kenneth of Salina, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mary Montgomery, wife, Colleen Montgomery, brothers, Carl, Harold and Gerald Montgomery and sister, Naomi Sproles.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2025, at Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
