Colleen, as most of us know her, was a 1958 graduate of Salina High School. She married Glen Montgomery in Cheyenne, Wyoming in June 1961. She and Glen lived in Denver until 1985, when they returned to Salina to be near and assist their aging mothers. Colleen was service oriented and donated countless hours to the community. In the mid 1980's, she was on Salina City Council and served as mayor for a brief time. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary for 25 years and operated the concession stand at weekly VFW bingo.

She started the Salina Senior Lunch Program thirteen years ago and voluntarily managed the program until poor health forced her to step down at the end of last year.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mabel Kloster and brothers Joe Matlock and Sam Matlock.

She is survived by her husband, Glen Montgomery; sisters, Clara Nell German of New Braunfels, Texas and Judith Matlock of Lakeside, Arizona; son-in-her heart Barron Sproles;16 nieces and nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews.
