Vanna was born on December 9, 1942 in Pryor to Estel and Grace (Plumlee) Herrington. She passed away on October 23, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 78.

Vanna was a lifetime resident of Salina and graduated from Salina High School in 1960. She married the love of her life, Billy Ray Kerns, on September 2, 1960 in Miami, Oklahoma and from their union came four children. Billy and Vanna were always together, where he went, she was normally at his side and they enjoyed a full and meaningful life together. She was an amazing wife, mom, grandma and friend; she loved her family more than anything and spent her life making a "home" where they all loved to gather. She was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed having her kids and grandkids over any chance she could. She had a kind and gentle spirit and was soft-spoken and patient. She had a smile that would light up a room, yet she never wanted to be the center of attention. She loved going on walks and her dog always followed. She took part in anything her family was doing whether it was attending ballgames and school events or playing games like pitch and dominoes and she also loved giraffes. The material things in life weren't what made Vanna happy, but the people who surrounded her did.

Vanna was a member of Blue Springs Church in Salina. She loved listening and singing along with the Praise and Worship singers every time she attended. She loved the Lord and had a tremendous amount of faith.

Vanna was a loving example to the people who knew and loved her and she will be missed by all those who shared in her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Billy, of the home; four children, Kevin Kerns, Keith Kerns, Kristi Brown and Kraig Kerns; eight grandchildren, Nicole Buckskin, Kassie Alexander, Kash Kerns, Kyleigh Brown, Katie Kerns, Keely Hawthorne, Kelsie Kerns and Karlie Kerns; five great grandchildren, Bailey, Brayden, Brooklyn, Avery and Josiah and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters and one brother.
