Klinton Thomas Braaten
June 5, 1926 - August 12, 2006
Klint Braaten was born on June 05, 1926 in Breckenridge , Minnesota to Oliver K. and Hannah G. (Issacson) Braaten. He passed away on August 12, 2006 in Oklahoma City , Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 02 months and 07 days.
Mr. Braaten had lived in Locust Grove since November of 1989 after moving from North Dakota. From 1945 until 1947 he served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Braaten worked as a livestock and grain farmer while living in North Dakota . He was also involved in insurance sales, accounting and truck driving. On August 01, 1989 he married Marvelyn M. Merriman in Fargo , North Dakota . Mr. Braaten was a member of the United Methodist Church in Locust Grove and was very active in ministry for several years. He was also active in D.A.V. He was considered to be a handyman who enjoyed helping people. He never met a stranger and enjoyed collecting John Deere memorabilia. Family and friends were a very important part of his life and he wanted people to rejoice in his home going to the lord.
Klint is survived by his wife, Marvelyn of the home. Five sons, David O. Braaten and wife Peggy of Foreman, North Dakota, Larry A. Braaten and wife Judy of Burnsville, Minnesota, Kevin J. Braaten and wife Debra of Andover, Minnesota, Paul A. Braaten and wife Sharon of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Donald T. Braaten and wife Colleen of Lakeville, Minnesota. Four Step-daughters, Patricia Stewart and husband Charlie of Peggs, Oklahoma, Sandra Grimes and husband Junior of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, Barbara Johnson of Chandler, Arizona and Jolene Myers of Peggs, Oklahoma. 20 Grandchildren, numerou s Great Grandchildren and one brother Gilman Braaten of McLeod, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Orville Braaten.
