Jewel Areta Hobbs
April 28, 1927 - December 25, 2015

Jewel was born April 28, 1927 in Gentry, Arkansas to Stephen and Clara May (Masters) Tate. She departed this life on December 25, 2015 in Salina, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years 7 months and 27 days.

Jewel was married to Loyd Lee Hobbs on September 7, 1945 in Bentonville, Arkansas. She and Loyd moved to the Adair area in 1958 and made their home on their farm west of Adair. Jewel always worked hard, helping to bale hay, take care of her chickens and livestock, or anything else that needed to be done around the farm.

Jewel was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. A loving mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all.

She is survived by her son, Howard Hobbs and wife Freda Mae, daughter, Areta Herman and husband Gary all of Adair. Five grandchildren, Gloria Paul, Jennifer Hobbs, Stephanie Crogan, Rachel Culp and Christopher Herman. Ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Sister, Betty Younger of Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, her husband, six brothers and five sisters.
