Doris Marie Breshears
December 13, 1937 - March 13, 2023

Doris Marie Breshears, longtime Pryor area resident, was reborn on March 13, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 13, 1937 to Woodroe and Leota (Rodden) Barnes in Clinton, Oklahoma. She grew up and attended school at Osage School and graduated from Pryor High School. Doris was married on June 1, 1958 to the love of her life, David Franklin Breshears. The two would have celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage this year. She worked many years for Wal-Mart until her retirement.

Doris loved to crochet, sew, and work with plastic canvas. When the kids were younger, she made all their clothes for them by hand. She also enjoyed helping David on the farm and could regularly be seen chasing the chickens around. Family was Doris's number one priority and she enjoyed spending time with all of them, especially the grandkids. She was an avid "The Price Is Right" viewer and never missed an episode, even in her final days. Doris was a faithful member of Utopia Baptist Church and loved her church family.

Doris is survived by her husband, David, of the home; daughters Vivian Breshears of Vinita, Mary Pope of Pryor, and Synthia Hoffman of Chelsea; son David Earl Breshears (Cathy Klotz) of Chelsea; grandchildren, Cassy Cole (Scott Mercer) of Kentucky, Kristopher Shipp of Pryor, Margina Callahan (Kal) of Pryor, Mariah Pope of Stroud, Shawnna Lasley (Branden) of Chelsea, and Scott Hoffman (Deanna) of Chelsea; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ritter (Howard) of Pryor, Ruth Donahou of Broken Arrow; and brother, Bobby Barnes (Lori) of Broken Arrow.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Stephen Shipp; great granddaughter, Zowie Johnson; her brother Lloyd Barnes; and twin brother, Ray Barnes and Mother-in-law, Rosetta Dennis.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the funeral home chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Utopia Baptist Church, with Pastors Gerald Pilant and Eric Troyer officiating. Interment will follow in Ghormley Cemetery, Pensacola, Oklahoma.

Arrangements are in the care of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care of Pryor.
