January 4, 1937 - September 23, 2024

Jimmie Darril Sumner, 87-year-old Catoosa resident, passed away peacefully early Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Canoe Brook assisted living and memory care facility in Catoosa. He was born on January 4, 1937, in Big Cabin to Darrell and Helen Lucille (Hacker) Sumner.

Jimmie was a 1955, graduate of Tulsa Will Rogers High School. On May 10, 1957, he married the love of his life, Frances Louise Longcrier, they celebrated over 67 years of marriage this past May. Jimmie owned and operated Refuse Service Inc. for many years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Green Country Tractor Club, he restored and fixed John Deere tractors mostly. He also pulled them in the club with his grandson Justin and great grandson Jeremiah. Jimmie loved spending time visiting, telling stories with his friends and family. He loved hearing stories about his grandkids on how they were doing, and going to family functions, especially fish fry's.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Leon, Terry, and Jack Sumner.

The family includes his loving wife Frances Louise Sumner of the home, his sons, James Sumner and wife Robin, Jerry Sumner, his daughter, Sherrie Brewer, grandchildren, Justin Sumner and wife Tara, Jarrod Sumner and wife Amanda, Brandon Attebury, Mitch Brewer and wife Patricia, eight great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the Stephens-Key Chapel in Pryor.

The celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Stephens-Key Chapel, with Pastor Donald Hogue, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Chouteau West Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.stephens-key.com or on the funeral home Facebook page. Arrangements are in care of Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care of Pryor. "Family owned and operated."
