James Enloe Whatley, 75, of Durant, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the Carrus Hospital in Sherman, Texas.

He was born on May 18, 1940 in Sherman, Texas to the late Hamp Whatley and Dorothy Boggs Whatley. James was raised in Willis, Oklahoma and graduated from Kingston High School in 1958. He joined the National Guard in 1957 and served as a Sgt. 1st Class through 1987. James married Winfred (Wendy) Jean Rice on February 14, 1959 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He worked as a chemist at Michelin Tire Company in Ardmore and retired in 1997. James was 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Kingston Masonic Lodge where he just received his 50 year pin. He also was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant and he enjoyed hunting and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by: Wife: Wendy Whatley, Durant, Oklahoma, Son: Kevin Whatley and wife Shelly, Durant, Oklahoma, Grandson: Nicholas Whatley, Durant, Oklahoma.

James was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son; Michael Whatley.

Visitation will be Monday, November 16th at Watts Funeral Home , Madill, Oklahoma from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Services will be Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Anthony Williams will officiate the service.

Interment will be at the Woodberry-Forest Cemetery, Madill, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home , Madill, Oklahoma. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.

Casket Bearers: Gary Craig, Glenn Burns, Jerry Lawson, Albert Pierce Jr., Glen Kinyon and Brandon Jurden
