Verlin Cleo Sanders, 91, of Lebanon, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
He was born on February 20, 1932, in Powell, Oklahoma to the late Lillard Atchley Sanders and Ruby Lois Owens Sanders. Verlin was raised in the Powell and Lebanon area. He worked in Fort Worth, Texas before being drafted into the United States Army.
Verlin married Doris Louise Day on March 9, 1956, in Dallas and she preceded him in death May 20, 2016. He worked for Dallas Airmotive and retired after 45 years. In 2006 he moved to Lebanon where he lived the rest of his life. Verlin enjoyed watching OU Sports, gardening and he loved his animals and grandchildren.
Verlin is survived by Son: Verlin Keith Sanders, Texarkana, Texas. Grandson: Clayton Scott Sanders. Great Grandchildren: Anya Sanders, Dhamon Scott Sanders, Kyndal Rayne Sanders. Siblings: Gene Sanders and wife Star, Lebanon, Oklahoma; Wanda Thorpe, Fort Worth, Texas; Patricia Rogers, Plano, Texas; Barbara Stubbs, Frisco, Texas.
Verlin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers: Morris Overton and Donald Sanders, and 2 sisters; Dixie Bond and Gloria Brewer.
