LaVada Christine Ayres, 96, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away April 4, 2010 at her
residence in Tulsa.
She was born on March 15, 1914 to the late Leonard Ables and
Mattie Jewel McCracken Ables in Madill. LaVada was raised in Madill where she
graduated High School. She married Ernest Earl Ayres on December 24, 1933 in
Madill. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1993. In 1988 she moved to
Ardmore where she lived for several years before moving to Tulsa in 1995. LaVada
was a member of the Church of Christ and she enjoyed playing bridge, gardening
and she was an avid OU sports fan.
She is survived by: Daughter: Jan Young, Tulsa, Oklahoma 4 Grandchildren: Stu Young, Edmond, Oklahoma Michael Ayres, Wichita, Kansas Stacey Ayres Cook, Tulsa, Oklahoma Greg Ayres, Sulphur, Oklahoma 7 Great Grandchildren
LaVada was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Mike Ayres, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Pettijohn Spring Christian Camp, Po Box 440, Madill, Oklahoma 73446.
