She was born on February 24, 1933 in Willis, Oklahoma to the late Oscar Wright Bridges and Ethel Arnold Bridges. Anita was raised in Marshall County, in the Willis and Fobb area. She graduated from Kingston High School in 1951 and later moved to Madill where she lived the rest of her life. Anita worked with Harrell at the family business and babysitting before working at the Madill Hospital. She was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church and she loved working outside, spending time with her grandkids, sewing, ceramics and cooking.
She is survived by: Children: Eugene Harris and wife Laurie, Madill, Oklahoma; John Harris and wife Leigh, New York; Janet Green, Milburn, Oklahoma; five grandchildren: Chase Harris, Spring, Texas; Ashley Harris, Durant, Oklahoma; Colten Green, Milburn, Oklahoma; Andrea Harris, Marion, Massachusetts; Jonathan Harris, Marion, Massachusetts; Great Grandchild: Laiklyn Hawk, Durant, Oklahoma. Brother: Harlan Bridges, Fairfield, California. Sisters: Leona Armstrong, Perryton, Texas; Zelda Hicks, Durant, Oklahoma; LaWanda Walker, Durant, Oklahoma. Daughter in-Law: Ann Harris, Marion, Massachusetts. Son in-Law: Kevin Green. Children's Father and close friend: Harrell Harris, Madill, Oklahoma.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Ross Bridges and half brother; Choice Bridges.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a family hour from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Jim Robinson will officiate the services. Honorary Bearers: Chase Harris, Ashely Harris, Andrea Harris, Jonathan Harris, Colten Green and David Bridges.
Music arranged by Tanner Young.
Interment will be at Willis Cemetery, Willis, Oklahoma.
Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral
Home in Madill, Oklahoma.
