G. P. "Smitty" Smith

G. P. “Smitty” Smith a resident of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the age of 69 years 9 months and 30 days. He was born in Monrovia, California to Greenville and Jean (Keller) Smith III on Tuesday, February 2, 1943. Smitty married Connie Daws in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, April 22, 1966.
Smitty retired from the United States Postal Service. He served in the United States Navy from 1961 thru 1965. Smitty enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He loved and cherished the time he spent with his family.
Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Connie of the home; daughters, Kimberly McClaine and husband Timmy of Denton, Texas and Michele Swanson and husband Ricky of Blanchard, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Tashley McClaine of Denton, Texas, Haley McClaine of Denton, Texas, Trenton Swanson of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Kaitlyn McClaine of Denton, Texas and Chase Swanson of Blanchard, Oklahoma; brothers, Patrick Smith and wife Peggy of Norman, Oklahoma and Richard Smith and wife Marion of Virginia; sister, Barbara Fairchild and husband Roy of Kansas City, Missouri.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, G.P and Jean Smith; brother, Jimmy Smith.
Family Hour will be from 6-7 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Shay Cemetery in Shay, Oklahoma with Bro. Joe Patterson officiating.
