She was born on November 26, 1948, in Amarillo, Texas to the late Horace Campbell Grant and Ruby Lee West Grant. Fayelene attended Horace Mann and Palo Duro High School in Amarillo where she graduated and later went to Beauty School. She worked as a meat wrapper at Safeway, attended school to be an Elementary Teacher Assistant with special needs. Fayelene owned and operated a in home day care for over 10 years. She married Jimmy Randolph Conner on September 8, 1965, in Amarillo, Texas. Fayelene loved entertaining with family and friends. She played cards and bingo with the other community ladies. Fayelene was a member of the Red Hats and a member of the St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Amarillo, Texas. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, had a huge sweet tooth but most of all she loved being with her family.
