Iva Mae Sprouse - Harkins, 71, of Oakland, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at her home in Oakland. Iva was born on December 28, 1954, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, to the late James Monroe Sprouse and Katie Lula Faye Garrison Sprouse. She was raised in Sulphur and later moved to Madill, where she graduated from high school. Madill remained her home for the rest of her life.
She worked as a teacher for many years caring for children at Fran Drummond Daycare and INCA Daycare, a role she truly loved. Iva had a servant's heart and extended that love by serving as a foster parent, touching many young lives along the way. She was affiliated with the Baptist faith and enjoyed spending her quiet time reading.
Iva is survived by Children: Brian Harkins and wife T.J. of Kingston, Oklahoma Daniel Harkins of Madill, Oklahoma Elliott Harkins of Madill, Oklahoma William Harkins and significant other Ashlee Neu of Madill, Oklahoma Trace Harkins of Madill, Oklahoma Three Grandchildren: Deanna Woods and husband Kaylan of Madill, Oklahoma Lane Harkins of Kingston, Oklahoma Brianna Harkins of Kingston, Oklahoma Four great-grandchildren: Waylon Harkins, Evie Harkins, Kope Woods, and Kayce Harkins. Brothers: Joe Sprouse and David Sprouse Sisters: Janie Weaver, Rosemary Rousey, Shirley Harkins and Barbara Williams
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Mary K. Glenn; and one grandson, Koda Travis Harkins, 3 brothers Alvie Sprouse, Jasper Sprouse and William Sprouse and 1 sister; Katie Nabors
