Robert Dean Goff, Sr.

goff-rd-sr

Unk ~ September 13, 2025

Robert Dean Goff, Sr., age 73, of Marietta, passed away on September 13, 2025 at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City. Robert grew up in Lebanon, where he developed the values of hard work, devotion to family, and faith that guided his life.

Robert was the true patriarch of his family, a man whose generosity and warmth touched everyone he encountered. He believed in Jesus Christ and lived in a way that brought care and compassion to others. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand, a smile, or practical advice rooted in good old-fashioned common sense.

He spent his career in the oil field industry, where his strong work ethic and mechanical talent were well known. Robert was deeply respected in the industry for his engineering skill, welding ability, and craftsmanship. He had a remarkable gift for building, fixing, and creating everyday essentials with ingenuity and care.

He proudly served with the Eastside Volunteer Fire Department for over two decades, dedicating his time and energy to protecting and supporting his community.

Beyond work, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life: playing dominos, Wahoo, and cards; watching westerns and M*A*S*H; rarely missing an episode of The Young and the Restless or The Big Bang Theory; and enjoying his afternoon naps. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lavonna Valentine Goff; his father, Marcus Edwin Goff; his mother, Pauline Lee McHargue Goff; his brother; and two nephews.

He is survived by his loving children: Brandy Rundel of Durant; Jennifer Knudtson (William) of Marietta; and Robert Goff, Jr. (Kristy) of Cashion; as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Robert also raised four bonus children with Connie Sims and four bonus children with Jennifer Goff. He maintained positive, deep, and loving relationships with both families, extending his guidance and care far beyond his immediate children.

Robert is also survived by his mother-in-law, Wynona Buxton of Durant; his brother, Marcus Goff (Gaby) of Oklahoma City; his sisters, Paulette Mayes (Ken) of College Station, Texas, and Betty Chumley (Rick) of Madill; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends who were blessed by his companionship.

Robert's legacy is one of love, generosity, and selflessness. His memory will continue to shine brightly through his family and all whose lives he touched.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 19 at New Beginnings Church, 518 South 1st Street, Madill with Bro. Bryan Wardroop officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Madill.

Glen Grego, Paul Grooms, Dustin Hicks, Jerry Hicks, Tracy Hunter, and Josh Hicks will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Tate, Damien Fallabaum, and Stacy Hunter.
