Anna Mae Orr Burns

Services for Anna Mae Burns, 83, of Stilwell were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8 in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta with Blake Burns officiating and Brad Burns assisting. Interment followed in the McMillan Cemetery.

Born August 9, 1937 at Lebanon, the daughter of Clyde and Maxine Massey Orr, she died Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa.

Anna Mae grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Madill High School. She married Charles A. "Red" Burns in Gainesville, Texas on January 28, 1956 and celebrated 44 years of marriage prior to his death on September 5, 2000. Anna Mae was an elder of the Chickasaw Nation Tribe and was very proud of her Chickasaw heritage. Anna Mae worked as an office manager for Johnson Plumbing and was a member of the New Life Church in Stilwell. She was an honorary "bleacher creature" at the Westville High School games and was the adopted Nan of the student body. Anna Mae enjoyed socializing with her friends and spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Nana".

In addition to her husband and parents, Anna Mae was preceded in death by her brother, Charles and granddaughter, Lacey Jo.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly McMillan and husband Mac; Blake Burns and wife Jamie, Bobby Burns and wife Leanne, and Brad Burns and wife Jennifer; brother, Joe Orr and wife Brenda; five granddaughters; five grandsons; one great-grandson; four nephews; and four nieces.

Serving as pallbearers were Barry Burns, Blane Burns, Briar Burns, Howard Dorsey, John McMillan, and Chris Phillips.
