Mr. Vinson was born September 16, 1909, in Collin County, Texas, the son of Thomas E. and Alice E. James Vinson. He died Tuesday, March 21, 2000 in Mercy Health Love County. He had lived in Love County all of his life.
He and Rema R. Napier were married March 29, 1938, at Enville. She preceded him in death on December 4, 1962.
Mr. Vinson was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, Junior Vinson of Bedford, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue & Billy Wallace of North Richland Hills, Texas, Carrie & George Schultz of Oklahoma City, and Barbie & Jeffrey Siewers of Evansville, Indiana; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Vinson, Charlie Vinson and Earl Vinson; and one sister, Carrie Bryant.
Serving as pallbearers were Luke Vinson, Freddie Vinson, Brock Vinson, Jeff Vinson, Tommy Vinson and Doug Wallace. Honorary bearers were Thurman Vinson, O.I. Vinson and Marshall Vinson.
Interment was in Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of Kennedy Funeral Home.
