Cemetery.
Born June 9, 1927 at Coleman, the daughter of George Nicholas and Effie
Pearl Harris White, she died Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Lake Country
Nursing Center, Marietta.
Velma grew up in Coleman, marrying Jack Clark at the age of 16 on March 8, 1942 in Coleman and he preceded her in death on September 6, 1976.
After they married, they moved to California until 1974 when they
migrated to Gainesville, Texas before settling in Thackerville in 1975.
Velma spent the rest of her life in Love County. She worked as a cashier
for K-Mart in Gainesville for 15 years. Velma was of the Baptist faith
and was a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. Velma enjoyed
crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her
daughter, Virginia C Hazelton and brother, Doyle White.
Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth White and George White; six
sisters, Frances Sloan, Dortha Gray, Leveta Flanagan, Ruby Polston,
Evelyn Wright, and Verna Anne Busby; three grandchildren, Tracy Vinson,
Keith Hendrix and Alan Hendrix; seven great-grandchildren, Jeremiah
Vinson, Zach Vinson, Jake Vinson, Jett Hendrix, Amy Hendrix, Maggie
Raprich, and Ross Hendrix; and four great-great-grandchildren, Eli
Vinson, Titus Vinson, Mila Vinson, and Cutter Raprich.
Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Jeremiah Vinson, Zach Vinson,
Jake Vinson, Jett Hendrix, and Ross Hendrix.
