Birth: Oct. 28, 1922 Aline Alfalfa County Oklahoma, USA

Death: Aug. 16, 1994 Oklahoma, USA

Son of Ralph E. and Lottie (Watson) Ryel. Married to Glenda Ruth Bocock on Nov 2 1946.

From the book, The Fighting Men of Oklahoma: T/4 Claude O. Ryel was born Oct. 28, 1922 at Aline and graduated from Cleo Springs OK High School. He was inducted into the service at Ft. Sill OK on April 13, 1943 and received his training at Ft. Knox KY and Camp Chaffee AR. SGT Ryel served 9 months overseas in the ETO with Co. B, 717th Tank Corps and with the 9th Army, 79th Div. He participated in the campaigns of the crossing of the Rhine and of the Ruhr Pocket and was hospitalized in Frankfurt, Germany. He received his discharge Dec. 11, 1945 and was awarded the Overseas Service Bar, EAME Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, the American Theater Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

Deceased Name: Glenda A. Ryel, 83, Aline

Funeral service for Glenda Ryel will be Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Aline Christian Church with Polly Young officiating. Burial will follow at Square Cedar Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.

Glenda was born on July 6, 1924 at McWillie to Abbie James Bocock and Opal Mae Booze Bocock and passed from this life on December 3, 2007 at Fairview Hospital. She and Claude Ryel were married in November of 1946 in Medicine Lodge, Kan.

Survivors include three sons, twelve grandchildren, one step grandchild, eleven great grandchildren and other relatives.
