Funeral for Anita Gwendolyn “Gwen” Long, 88, of Wichita, KS, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Square Cedar Cemetery under direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
She was born February 24, 1924, in Jet, OK, to John and Bessie Brown Oakley and passed away Wednesday, September, 26, 2012, in Wichita, KS.
She was raised in the Jet community, where she attended and graduated from Jet High School.
Gwen married Albert Long December 1, 1946, and he passed away August 7, 2012.
She moved to Wichita in 1949. She worked a short period for Boeing Aircraft. She was a stay-at-home mom, and she raised her three sons.
Gwen is survived by her sons, Darrel and wife Marilynn Long and Terry and wife Judy Long, all of Wichita, and Kevin Long of Everett, Washington; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister Betty Snook of Atlanta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.
