Milton Lloyd HARMS South Mennonite Brethren Cemetery
Milton Lloyd Harms was born February 13, 1928 at Bessie, OK to Arthur and Martha (Heidebrecht) Harms. He departed this life on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Fairview, OK. Milton attended school in Texas, Cordell, OK and graduated at O.B.A. at Meno, OK. He gave his life to the Lord on March 12, 1942. Milton married Marie Regier on October 15, 1948 at Whitewater, KS. They lived east of Cordell. They farmed together in their early years of marriage. Milton worked as a meat cutter with Safeway and was the Meat Dept. Supervisor for United Supermarkets. In 1971 Milton and Marie bought a meat processing plant at Moore, OK. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Moore since 1971. Milt enjoyed going on mission trips and hunting. He and Marie were recently honored as charter members with the A.H.S.G.R. (Germans from Russia).
Milton was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bruce Harms; one great-grandson, McOlsen Pendleton; one sister, Donna; and one brother, L.D.; Survivors include his wife Marie Harms of Fairview, OK; daughter Grace Karber and husband Royce of Fairview; son Randie Harms and wife Jody of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter-in-law Ruth Buller and husband Ron of Sheridan Lake, CO; two sisters, Wilma Zuercher and husband Dwight of Rockford, IL and Virgie Mueller and husband Russell of Alberta, Canada; nine grandchildren, Amanda Gillespie and husband Aaron, Cara Sharp and husband Phillip, Erin Walker and husband Scott, Devon Pendleton and husband Matt, J.D. Karber and wife Jami; Lindsie Wright and husband Caleb, Adam Harms and wife Jenny, Kate Lubbers-Jones and husband Shane and Audrey Bayliss; twenty great-grandchildren and many extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Moore with Pastor Kevin Clarkson officiating. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m., at Saron Mennonite Cemetery near Orienta, OK with Pastor Derek Cox officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Moore - Missions with the funeral home serving as custodian at P.O. Box 15, Fairview, OK 73737.
