Larry Duwaine Ratzlaff

January 1, 1945 - August 30, 2025

Larry Duwaine Ratzlaff was born January 1, 1945 in Fairview, OK to Otto and Nora Ratzlaff. He passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025. Larry grew up on a wheat farm northwest of Fairview. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1963 while he began pursuing a future in painting houses, restoring and refinishing wood furniture and cars while helping his parents on the family farm. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University for one year before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. As a sergeant in the USMC, he served in Vietnam where he earned many medals and honors including a Purple Heart. After being honorably discharged from the military, Larry returned to the United States and eventually back home to the family farm to continue his passion for painting and restoration.

Surviving relatives include his son, Alex Ratzlaff and his wife, Angel, his sister Catherine Seifried, niece Julie Stalder and her husband, David, and his nephew Seth Seifried and his wife, Kristine. He also has one adorable grandchild, a great niece, great nephew, and his best friend Edie Parmenter along with many other wonderfully close friends and family.

Graveside services will be held Friday, September 12, 2025 at 2:00 p.m., at the Saron Mennonite Cemetery near Orienta, Oklahoma with Pastor Arnold Curby officiating. Services are under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home in Fairview, Oklahoma. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
