Funeral services for Arthur Lee Curby, 84, of Orienta, will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at the Saron Mennonite Church in Orienta. The Rev. Arnold Curby will officiate. Burial will be in Saron Mennonite Cemetery, Orienta. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation is 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born March 25, 1925, in Olney, Texas, to John Gorman Curby and Catherine Surena (Blackwood) Curby and died Friday, June 12, 2009, at his home near Orienta.

He grew up in Texas, living in several different places until settling in San Antonio. He served in the Navy during World War II. He married Mary Rollins May 10, 1952, in Beeville, Texas.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge in September 1952. He worked in civil service for the Air Force in San Antonio, where he served as a warehouse foreman, retiring in 1973. In 1979, they moved to Livingston, Texas, where they lived until moving to Oklahoma in March 1993. He was a member of the Saron Mennonite Church in Orienta.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; two sons, Arthur Leon Curby of Cypress, Texas, and Arnold Curby of Oreinta; one brother, Dell Curby of Beeville; one sister, Ollie Webb of Winters, Texas; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and nu-merous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, two sisters, three brothers and one grandson.

Graveside Services for Mary May Curby, 89, of Orienta, Oklahoma, will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2020, at the Saron Mennonite Cemetery in Orienta, The Reverend Arnold Curby will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Mary May Curby was born November 5, 1930, in Flomot, Texas, to Henry Rapp Rollins and Lula Alice (Ash) Stegall Rollins and passed away Friday, October 2, 2020, at the Fairview Regional Medical Center in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Mary May moved with her family to Carlsbad, New Mexico, and attended grade school there before moving to San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated from Harlandale High School in 1947. After graduation she moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she worked before returning home to San Antonio.

Mary married Arthur Curby on May 10, 1952, in Beeville, Texas. They moved to San Antonio where she went to work for the San Antonio Housing Authority as an Administrative Assistant until she retired many years later. In 1979, Mary and Arthur moved to Livingston, Texas, where they lived until they moved to Orienta, Oklahoma, on March 1, 1993. Arthur passed away Friday, June 12, 2009. Mary remained in their home the rest of her life.

Mary was a member of the Saron Mennonite Church of Orienta. As a young girl, she trusted the Lord as her Savior and was a devoted Christian the rest of her life. She was a Sunday School teacher, and worked with the youth for many years. Mary’s favorite hobby was crocheting with yarn and thread, and she made many tablecloths and bedspreads. They were all beautiful and her family loved them and cherish them to this day. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by two sons, Arthur Leon Curby and wife Freddi, and Arnold Curby and wife Grace; three brothers, Bill Rollins, Ronnie Rollins, and Rollie Rollins; two sisters, Valerie Chance and Roma Fine; seven grandchildren, Hannah Curby, Nathan Curby and wife Cherise, Charissa Nunn and husband Eric, Levi Curby and wife Kristin, Caleb Curby, Erin Curby, and Christopher Curby; six great-grandchildren, Jameson Curby, Elliot Curby, Mollie Curby, Noelle Nunn, Ransom Curby, Lyla Curby, and two more on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Lee Curby, her parents Henry and Lula Rollins, step-son Arthur Gene Thomas, grandson Aaron Michael Curby, seven brothers and four sisters.

Memorials may be made to Saron Mennonite Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. acting as custodian.
