Bette Marie Penner
November 9, 1936 - June 26, 2023

Graveside Funeral Service for Bette Marie Penner, 86, of Fairview will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Saron Mennonite Cemetery in Orienta, Oklahoma. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. in the Saron Mennonite Church, Orienta. Arrangements were made by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Bette was born November 9, 1936 to William and Gladys Vaughn in Hobart, Oklahoma. After the death of her mother (when she was 9 months old), Bette was adopted by her uncle and aunt, Con and Gladys Foster. Bette grew up and attended several different schools, graduating from Fairview High School.

Bette married Earlin Eugene Penner on November 21, 1953 at her parent's home in Skellytown, Texas. They lived nearly all their 60 year married life in Fairview. Bette was a faithful homemaker, wife, and mother, raising 4 children and serving her church and community. She was a longstanding member of Saron Mennonite Church and served as a volunteer for the Fairview Regional Hospital.

Bette is survived by her son, Dwaine Penner (and wife Sheri), daughter Penny Schaefer, daughter Chrysta Kuhns, and son Randy Penner. Bette is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 6 siblings.
