Betty Hiebert
January 28, 1939 - September 9, 2023

Betty Hiebert, 84, of Fairview, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Betty was born on January 28, 1939 to parents Albert and Meta Nickel. She had a 6 year-old sister, Deloris, at the time of her birth. They lived in a 3 room house on a farm until she was in 4th grade at which time her family moved to a 2 story home on a farm near Bessie. She attended a 1 room school until 4th grade. She went to Oklahoma Bible Academy in Meno, OK for high school. She resided in the dorms where she made life-long friends. It was while in high school that she met Everett Hiebert at a basketball game. They would be best friends for the next 68 years. They were married in August after she graduated high school. She was 17 and required her parents' signatures to allow it. She became pregnant quickly and had her first child, Terry, at the age of 18. Four years later she had a daughter, Vicky, and in another 2 years she had her last child, Beverly.

She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She began working in the Fairview school system when her youngest daughter was in elementary school. She continued to work in different capacities until her retirement 32 years later. She met some of her best friends while working.

Betty placed her faith and family as her main priorities. She began attending Saron Mennonite Church with Everett and has continued to do so until her death. She loved her church and was very active and involved. She and Everett have supported numerous missionaries through the church. They encouraged their children through church attendance, church camps, mission trips, and attending Oklahoma Bible Academy. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her sister Deloris Kliewer; brother-in-law Harold Kliewer; and granddaughter Lindsey Hiebert. She is survived by her husband Everett; son Terry (Vickey), daughters Vicky (Keith) and Beverly Dawn (Paul); 17 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Graveside committal services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Saron Mennonite Cemetery with Pastor Arnold Curby officiating, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., at the Saron Mennonite Church.
