Funeral services for Ione Young, 87, will be Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Ringwood. The Reverend Brian Frable will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

Ione was born July 25, 1919, in Nash, to Andrew Jackson and Clara Shafer Arnold and passed away Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the Methodist Care Center at the Commons. http://www.enidwecare.com/She attended Grant County and Ringwood Schools. On March 24, 1934, Ione married W. Alvin Young in Fairview. The couple made their home on a farm west of Ringwood. She worked in the Ringwood Elementary School Cafeteria and later as a butcher at Richards Grocery and Strange Grocery. Ione was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringwood and the Ringwood Community Club.

Ione is survived by one son, Robert Young and his wife Carolyn, of Ringwood; one sister, Donna Butts and her husband Charles of Yukon; one brother, Bernard Arnold of Choctaw; two daughters-in-law, Jennie Young of Ringwood, and Mary Young of Enid; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, two sons, five sisters, one brother, and two randchildren. Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or the church with Henninger-Allen Funeral Home acting as custodians for the funds.
