Charlene (Griffin) Pruitt, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007. She was born Sept. 10, 1931, in San Angelo, Texas, to Lynn and Marguerite Griffin.
She had worked at General Telephone Co. as an operator until marrying James Pruitt on Oct. 6, 1956. She had also worked for Newman's and Dillard's department stores in Enid.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Curtis Griffin.
She is survived by her children, daughter, Pam Cribbs and husband, Dan of Piedmont, son, Tom Pruitt and wife, Lisa of Longdale, daughter, Sandra Flottman and husband, Rex of Winfield, Kan., daughter, Susan Fox and husband, Rick of Enid; and a stepson, Gunther Lange and wife, Ingrid of Hamburg, Germany. She is also survived by her brother, Lynn Griffin II and wife, LaVerne of Greenwood, Ark., and a sister, Wanda Yoas of San Marcos, Texas. She has six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 4350 Will Rogers Parkway, Suite 400, Oklahoma City, Okla. 73108.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside committal service will be held at 3 p.m. in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Meno with Rev. Rod Young, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church officiating.
