Funeral services for Buddy Lynn LeCrone, M.D., 76, Edmond resident, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019 in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor David Wiggins officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Meno, under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Visitation with the family present will be Thursday evening ,May 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stittsworth's.
Buddy left this earth for his heavenly home on May 6, 2019. Bud was born in Woodward, Oklahoma on December 20, 1942. He was the son of Emery F. LeCrone and Beryl (Lanham) LeCrone. Bud was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine with the class of 1971. He practiced family medicine for several rural communities and Oklahoma City for over forty years. Bud was especially proud of his work in tribal medicine. He was part of the initial endeavor to put rural healthcare in place for the Muscogee Creek Nation in 1979. Bud also as a medical provider for the Choctaw Nation. Bud retired from practice in 2014 where he was serving as a provider with the Sac and Fox Tribe.
Buddy is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann LeCrone and Daughter Diane LeCrone, both of Edmond, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his four beloved grandchildren, PFC Ryan West of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Alex West, Emily West and Erin West of Kansas City, Missouri and their father, George West of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters, Patty Kear-Ross of Helena, Linda and David Wiggins of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, Forrest LeCrone of Enid, sister-in-law Lila LeCrone of Fort Worth, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. He had special love for his cousins Barbara Faust and Jimmie Glennie both of Wichita, Kansas.
Bud was preceded in passing by his parents, older brother, Reverend Ted LeCrone, sisters Elmadean Wilson and Darlene Donley, and his beloved daughter Dana LeCrone West.
“Pops” loved watching OU Football and was a lifelong fan. He never gave up on the Dallas Cowboys either. Bud cherished the memories of going to the OU Games with his uncle Dewey Glennie and cousins David and Jimmy. He loved music and was always waiting for the next Apple product to come out. But most of all, Bud loved his children with all his heart and soul. They were his greatest treasure. Bud was especially fond of sharing memories with his sisters, Patty and Linda. Their favorite stories always seemed to center around Aunt Margie, who was a joy in all our lives.
Bud leaves behind a number of people whose lives he touched professionally and personally. He never liked to be called “The Boss” and never liked going to meetings. He would rather be seeing patients. He is fondly remembered by many, many people who were his patients over the years and coworkers who also were his friends.
