Pleasant Hill Cemetery


Visitation with the family of Keith L. Gordon , 71, will be 4-7 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at the family home. Private memorial services will be held at a later date with cremation arrangements under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. A register book will be at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home for friends to sign.

Keith was born on Feb. 8, 1938, in Enid, the son of Byron and Esther Robinson Gordon , and died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at his residence.

He was raised and educated in Enid, where he attended Enid Public Schools. He owned Gordon 's Shoe Store in Woodward, Okla.

Keith served in the U.S. Navy and was a Navy Seal.

Keith married Wanda Cleckner on Oct. 1, 1961. He worked at Coldiron Department Store for six years and retired from Champlin Refinery in 1985 after 18 years of service. He then worked for Vance Air Force Base (Northrop) for 15 years in the EPA, retiring in 2000.

Keith coached little league softball and baseball for 18 years, coached girls church softball for five years and served on Drummond school board for 10 years.

Keith is survived by his wife, Wanda, of the home; son, Greg and wife Anjie Gordon of Enid; daughter, Tammy and husband Tim Ernst of Edmond; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; stepsister, Phyllis Vandiver; and stepbrother, Jim DeBock of Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, one stepbrother and one grandson.

Memorials may be made in Keith 's memory to Ross Health Care or the charity of the donor's choice with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.
