Margarete Seidel Folger, 83, went to be with her Savior on June 8, 2018. She was born in Shonke, Germany, on May 20, 1935, to Frederick and Maria Seidel. Margarete was the youngest of five children.
After moving to the United States, she met and fell in love with Richard Folger. They were married April 22, 1961, in Clayton, New Mexico. They had three children, Irene, Dennis and Fred. Margarete generously served anyone who stepped foot in her home. She was an incredible cook and never let anyone leave hungry. Margarete also enjoyed working in her garden and canning her own fruits and veggies. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She loved having them over and spending time with them. One of her proudest moments was earning her U.S. citizenship. She was a member of the Ringwood United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard; her brother, Walter Seidel and wife, Sophie; sister, Elly Sears and husband, Gerald; her daughter, Irene Allen and husband, Jack of Ringwood; son, Fred Folger and wife, Janette of Helena; grandchildren, Gretchen Siler and husband, Bryan of Ringwood, Heidi Haines and husband, Brandon of Fort Worth, Texas, Jim Allen and wife, Kelley of Miami, Texas, Brandon Folger of Stillwater, Baleigh Folger of Edmond; great-grandchildren, Alli King and husband, Dayton, Ethan, Matthias and Max Siler, Averi and Blake Haines, Ashtyn and Lainey Allen and one geat-great-granddaughter, Mila King.
Margarete was preceded in death by her mother and father; two brothers; and son, Dennis.
Funeral service for Margarete is 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, at Ringwood United Methodist Church. Burial follows at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Meno, with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Helena.
