ENID - The funeral service for Kathleen M. Ensz , 91-year-old Enid resident, formerly of Ringwood, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Salem United Methodist Church, Drummond. The Rev. Shorty Unruh and Rev. Carl Sterling will officiate. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Kathleen was born Jan. 20, 1919, in Ft. Cobb, Okla., to Johnathan Jantz and Lena (Koehn) Jantz and died Monday, March 1, 2010, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home.
She attended a country school near Ft. Cobb. At age 13 she moved with her family to Meno, Okla., and attended Oklahoma Bible Academy (OBA).
On August 8, 1948, she married Henry W. Ensz , and the couple made their home on a farm outside of Ringwood. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Bible Chapel in Meno, where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She was a 4-H club leader, a member of "Salty Sam's Camping Club," loved to paint landscapes and enjoyed sewing .
She is survivied by her two daughters, Joyce Singleton and husband Dwight of Drummond and Jann Ensz , also of Drummond; three grandchildren, Ryan Single-ton and wife Wendy of Drummond, Russell Single-ton and wife Shelley of Drummond and Sharla Mills and husband Terry of Perry, Okla.; nine great-grandchildren, Brianna, Jacob, Trevor, Cameron, Tucker, Steffen, Aaron, Madysen and Mckensie; one brother, Ray Jantz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; two brothers, Harold and Roy; and one sister, Viola Koehn.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF (cancer or stroke division) or Salem United Music Ministry.
